Tantancewa fact-checkers have spotted a viral post being shared on WhatsApp groups
claiming that graduates with 1 st or 2 nd class degrees or Masters in ‘Civil Engineering,
Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security,
Software Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geophysics,
Biology, and Biotechnology’ interested in lecturing should send their CVs to a given
number indicated on the post for employment at the University.
Fact:
Investigation conducted by Tantancewa fact-checkers found that the post is fake and did
not originate from Federal University of Technology Babura, Jigawa state. Deputy Vice
Chancellor of the University, Prof. Bala Sidi confirmed the falsity of the post urging the
public to be cautious of information not from genuine source. Prof. Sidi said: “It is fake,
we don’t advertise on social media and in fact we have finished the process”.
Conclusion:
The viral post about lecturing opportunity for 1 st and 2 nd class degree holders at Federal
University of Technology Babura, Jigawa state is fake. The public is kindly urged to
disregard the post and stop sharing it with other people.
