Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs)
The Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs) initiative seeks to strengthen the capacity of women working in human rights advocacy, journalism, community organising and civil society to protect themselves and their work from digital threats and gender-based violence. The programme focuses on digital safety, online privacy, secure communication, account protection and responding to online harassment, surveillance, impersonation and other forms of technology-facilitated gender-based violence. Through practical training, awareness raising, evidence preservation and collective resilience, the initiative empowers women to continue their advocacy safely, defend their rights and participate meaningfully in civic and digital spaces.
