Are you passionate about empowering young entrepreneurs and making a positive impact in their lives?
The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), with support from the British Council
and Prince’s Trust International, is seeking experienced and dedicated mentors to guide and support
participants in the Sustainable Enterprise Challenge Project in Kano State.
The project aims to provide training to 60 young individuals in Kano State, equipping them with practical
skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed as entrepreneurs and be employable. As a mentor, you will
play a crucial role in shaping the future of these aspiring entrepreneurs by providing guidance and
support in building and enhancing their soft skills.
Key Responsibilities:
● Provide guidance and support to participants in developing their business ideas
● Share industry knowledge and expertise in areas of entrepreneurship, business ideation and
development, financial management, marketing, and more
●Foster a supportive and encouraging environment for participants to enhance their confidence,
communication, and critical thinking skills
● Assist participants in preparing for the opportunity to pitch their business ideas
● Offer ongoing mentorship and advice to help participants actualize their business ideas
Eligibility Criteria for Mentors:
1. Demonstrated experience in entrepreneurship, business development, or related fields
2. Mentors must have the resources and capacity to apply inclusive, effective and
engaging approaches to delivering entrepreneurship programmes in a
safe environment
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to commit at least two to three hours per week for a group of 5-6 Mentees in
the mentorship program from February to March 2024
5. Willingness to attend a 2 day workshop on methodology and guide.
