Community-Based Children’s Day Celebration 2026: “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child

The event commemorated National Children’s Day 2026 under the theme “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child.” It provided a safe, inclusive platform for children to play, express themselves, build confidence, and learn about their rights while fostering community ownership of children’s well-being.

Recreational games, dancing competition, egg race, skipping rope, sack race, drinking competition, cultural performance by school children, awareness on child rights, prize-giving, and refreshments, to promote inclusion, participation, recreation, and awareness of children’s rights in an underserved community. Over 370 children, community leaders, parents, volunteers, and students from a local private school participated, through a participatory, child-friendly approach with prior community mobilization.
