Introduction
The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD), conducted a 2-days training
workshop focused on Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and SPSS Statistical
Data Analysis. This training, held on 28th and 29th August 2024, was meticulously designed to enhance
the statistical analysis capabilities of academicians and Researchers through practical applications of
SPSS and PLS SEM.
The training introduced Eighteen (18) participants and one Facilitator; Mukhtar Shehu Aliyu Department
of business Administration and entrepreneurship faculty of management sciences Bayero University
Kano.

Day 1: August 28, 2024
Venue: Ada Lovenda Hall, The first day of the workshop introduced participants to the fundamentals of
statistical analysis using SPSS. And the installation of the PLS SEM and SPSS software to their computers
The agenda included:
.Introduction to SPSS: Participants were familiarized with the SPSS interface, data entry, by using
questionires provided by the Facilitator and basic functions.
Descriptive Statistics: Training covered methods for summarizing and describing data, including
measures of central tendency and variability.
Inferential Statistics: Techniques for hypothesis testing, including t-tests were discussed to help
participants draw conclusions from sample data.
Hands-on Session: Practical exercises allowed participants to apply the concepts learned, with guidance
from facilitator.
Day 2: August 29, 2024
Venue: Prof. Bjorn Beckman Hall, CITAD Kano OfficeThe second day advanced into more complex
statistical methodologies:Introduction to PLS-SEM: Participants were introduced to Partial Least Squares
Structural Equation Modeling, a technique for analyzing complex variable relationships.Model
Specification and Evaluation:

The session focused on constructing and evaluating structural equation models using SPSS.Advanced
Techniques: Training included advanced topics such as model fit indices and interpretation of PLS-SEM
results.Hands-on Session: Participants engaged in practical exercises to implement PLS-SEM, facilitated
by facilitator to ensure effective understanding and application.
Conclusion
The 2-day training workshop successfully met its objectives by providing valuable insights into SPSS and
PLS-SEM techniques. Attendees gained practical skills in statistical data analysis that will significantly
benefit their academic and Researchers endeavors. The comprehensive nature of the training, combined
with the expertise of the facilitators, ensured a productive and educational experience for all
participants. The certificate will be awarded to the participant two days after the training.
