JAMAARE: CULTIVATING A DIGITAL FUTURE
Partnership Show Case
Jama’are has a strong and well-organised business community, represented by the Jama’are Traders Association, which was established in 2001 and officially registered with the Bauchi State Ministry of Youth and Community Development. The association brings together traders across different sectors in Jama’are Local Government Area and has over 250 registered members, reflecting the strength of local commerce and entrepreneurship in the community.
With the support of CITAD and Hello World, the deployed hub now serves as a shared digital access point for traders, young people, students and community members. It supports business activities, access to online services, skills development and information sharing, while strengthening digital inclusion across the wider Jama’are community.
The hub responds to growing needs in Jama’are, including improving digital skills, supporting small and medium-scale businesses, expanding access to online markets and services, and creating opportunities for young people in a fast-growing and highly connected local economy.
The successful deployment of the hub at the Local Government Secretariat reflects strong collaboration between community stakeholders, local authorities and development partners, and positions Jama’are as a key digital and economic hub for the wider area.
