Connecting the Future: Itas Community Networks Partners with Local Govt for Digital Growth

NEWS UPDATE FROM ITAS COMMUNITY NETWORKS
On February 17th, 2026, a productive meeting was held at the Itas/Gadau Local Government Secretariat. The discussion focused on sustainability and the renewal of the Starlink subscription with the Head of Administration (HOA), Umar Farouq Abubakar. The meeting also included the newly appointed Local Government Treasurer and Director of Finance, Ahmad Isah, who is an alumnus of the First School of Community Networks from Jama’are Local Government Area.
The meeting emphasized the need to repair computers at government day secondary school (GDSS) Itas Centre in preparation for the upcoming Secondary School Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB-CBT) computer-based test training for students. The HOA appreciated the visit, praising the commitment to community service. He finally, advised the network manager of the hub, to submit a formal request letter for the Starlink renewal to the local government Chairperson, while assuring follow-up on the issue.
